Fallout: Five Points - Anyone?

I seem to have developed an obsession with the world of Marty ‘Corsce-zies Gangs of New York, I’m gonna get a hold of the Herbert Ashbury 1928 account of the goings on to fully separate fact from fiction…

Having watched the movie with my Mother her initial opinions were clouded by the fact that she simply refused to believe that the details of the political system and the extent of the corruption in blossoming Manhattan could be anything like it’s portrayal in the film. She deemed it unrealistic and lacking in script. I pointed out that really that scale of corruption is still in exsistance across the globe, besides which I have a degree in screenwriting and would be the judge of that (childish, I know).

But really what i thought of it as a movie is irrelevant to me now, I am utterly fascinated by New York’s history so much it gives me stomach ache. All the feels…

I have the sort of twitchy feeling that I may be about to embark on another major writing project…Gangs Of New York - The Video Game. Lets do it.

I heard a rumor…

Rumor has it Stanley Kubrick was particularly fond of mentally torturing a young Malcom McDowell in A Clockwork Orange.

Alex’s python Basil was supposedly introduced by the director because McDowell was terrified of snakes.

Allegedly, Of course…

Tyrannosaur, Paddy Considine, 2011

A harrowing British domestic in which Peter Mullan plays to perfection the haunted Scotsman with serious anger issues. An unusual friendship between he and Olivia Coleman strikes up as she attempts to escape her abusive husband, a sickening character played by Eddie Marsen.

Horrible but compelling, its an absorbing portrait of two people battling their demons. Hats off to perfect casting.
